Spring SOON!

We had an exceedingly cold winter. I was happy to finally take a little jaunt around the property and to discover that the Red-winged Blackbirds have returned. Their ever-so distinguishable trill-tweet song was echoing around the pond. I also spotted a Song sparrow singing for the first time this season. This is a species that winters-over here, and I’m glad to know that they have survived the frigid temperature and deep, deep and long lasting snow that we had.
