Isn’t Life Splendid?

The Bluebird couple that is raising a brood on the East fence – south box (#15) was busy today. Their chicks are really developing, and the bugs they are taking to them are getting substantial in size.

This first set of photos is the female.

Here is the male tending to his fatherly duties.

While filming this pair, I watched them communicate with each other on many levels. Their interactions seem so “human” at times. I think the idea of parental “love” goes much farther back the evolutionary timeline that we typically consider. It was an incredibly lovely afternoon.
