House Wrens Busy Busy

This pair of House Wrens was busy feeding chicks amongst the buzz and congestion of Cicadas. They carried a variety of food into the nest, but I didn’t see them with a Cicada, even though one was climbing up their house. I suppose they are too small to take advantage of all that protein flying around.

Spiders

Grasshoppers

Caterpillar

Is this Wren is sizing up that Cicada – maybe hoping to nab one for the hungry chicks?

Perhaps this Cicada will be the Wren chicks’ next meal? Looks like easy pickings!
