Wren Yoga?

I saw a House wren on that box in typical Wren stance, tail up in the air and I told myself that, once I got the photo of the RWB, I’d go over to the wren box to see what I could catch. I kept looking towards that wren house and that bird was still atop the post to which the box is attached, with that tail in the air. I thought it was odd for the typically flitty and quick Wren to still be there minutes later.

I came to the conclusion that perhaps a bit of tree debris had fallen atop the post and what I was observing was just a small branch. Perhaps, it wasn’t a bird, after all.

Eventually, I made my way over to that box, and this is what I saw….

I had to get fairly close before the Dickcissel decided to fly off. Do you suppose he was doing Wren Yoga and just totally Zenning out? Or, maybe that’s his favorite poop post and he’s a bit constipated?
