Too Cute!

As I drive out to the pastures on my ride-arounds, as I call them, I am cautious as I enter a new area. Often, my presence scares off a few birds that are doing what birds do. But if I stop and settle, they will resume their activity. That’s what happened today.

I was moving into the pond meadow area through the old, red gate when I saw some very small activity. When I stopped to observe, I saw little brown birds moving through the grass. These old eyes (one which can hardly read the “Big E” from twenty feet away) can catch movement, but not details. So, I simply aim my camera and shoot. It’s only once I’m back at my computer that I actually learn what I have encountered!

Today, it happened to be a couple of Chipping Sparrows that caught my attention. But, I didn’t realize it was a parent and offspring until I reviewed the images. When I saw the photo I have posted above, my heart melted. That little baby is way too cute. Here are a few other shots that I was able to burn onto the SD card.
